Sagar: A minor girl was on Monday allegedly gangraped by four youths near Sagar and later set ablaze by them when she told her family about the incident, police said.

The 15-year-old went to a nearby forest in Khajda Harchand village when she was overpowered by the accused, who took turns to rape her.

The victim somehow reached her house and narrated the crime to her family, who rushed to the forest in search of the youths.

The girl, who suffered 95 per cent burn injuries, was referred to Sagar district hospital for treatment where her condition is said to be serious.

When the accused came to know that she had informed her parents about the incident, they reached the girl's house and set her on fire by pouring kerosene.

On the basis of the victim's statement, a case has been registered against Mukesh Kurmi, Deepak Vishwakarma, Murli Sharma and Vivek Kurmi, they said.

The four are absconding, they added.
