Bhopal: A four-year-old was allegedly raped in Ghansour town in Madhya Pradesh by a 35-year-old man after being lured with a chocolate. The toddler's condition is critical and she was airlifted to a hospital in Nagpur on Saturday night.
The girl was allegedly raped by the 35-year-old man on Wednesday who then dumped her at a cremation ground where her family found her unconscious. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has sanctioned Rs two lakh for the girl's treatment.
The rape survivor's uncle said, "She went missing around 7 pm on Wednesday. We found her unconscious next day close to a cemetery. She is only three and half years old. She can't even tell us what happened."
Dr Ravi Shridhar Manadiya said, "The condition of the girl is very critical. She is being treated in pediatric ICU."
Enraged over the incident, people in Ghansour town observed a bandh on Saturday and submitted a memorandum to the sub divisional magistrate demanding immediate arrest and strict action against the accused who is absconding. Ghansour Police Station in-charge R D Barti said a case under Sec 363 (punishment for kidnapping), 366 (kidnapping, abducting or inducing woman) and 376 (punishment for rape) of the IPC was registered against Khan and police teams have been sent to Delhi and Bihar to trace him.
Public Relation Officer of Seoni district, Ghanshyam Sirsam said the private power plant company is bearing the entire expenses of the girl's treatment and its management also announced to provide a suitable job to the survivor's father.
