New Delhi: The Madhya Pradesh Lokayukta police on Saturday raided the residence of a senior IPS officer and found cash and jewellery worth crores. The police reportedly recovered nearly Rs 25 crore worth of cash and jewellery from the Sagar and Bhopal residences of Umesh Gandhi, DIG, Prisons.
Lokayukta inspector Naveen Avasthi said, "Around 25 crore worth wealth has been recovered. Various papers of the allotted land has been recovered. FDs worth Rs 2 crore and Rs 4 crore in cash have been found."
The Lokayukta police added that the properties papers of the DIG's Bhopal, Katli and Sagar residences have been found. "We will investigate everything in detail later," said the police.
