MP: Man kills wife out of suspicion, commits suicide

Damoh: A man in Damoh on Friday axed his wife to death out of suspicion, and later committed suicide by jumping in front of a train, police said. The deceased were identified as Gayatri Patel, 19, and Shankar Patel, 23.

Shankar suspected that his wife was having an affair with her sister's husband and they quarrelled frequently over this issue, police said.

After a heated argument on Saturday, he allegedly hacked his wife to death, and later jumped in front of a train on Damoh-Patharia rail section. The couple is survived by a six-month-old daughter.
