New Delhi: The Madhya Pradesh government has banned the sale of Crezendo condom in the state saying it's against Indian culture.
Public Works Minister in BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh Kailash Vijayvargiya has taken up cudgels against Hindustan Latex Ltd's condom on behalf of the government.
Vijayvargiya says the condom is a sex toy and will not be allowed to be sold in the state.
The condom pack, which was launched by HLL six months back, comes with a vibrating ring.
Meanwhile Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan also reacted to the issue and said anything doesn’t uphold the Indian culture will not be accepted.
"I had said this earlier as well with reference to the sex education in the state. If there is something that is not acceptable in our culture we will take our own decision on this,†says Chief Minister Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chauhan.
In March Chauhan had also banned sex education was in state schools amid protests against graphics and pictorial descriptions used in the course material provided under the adolescent education programme (AEP).
