Mumbai: Mumbai Police have landed themselves in a controversy right in the beginning of the New Year.
A video shot from a mobile and circulated by one of the underworld informers allegedly shows Assistant Commissioner of Police Prakash Wani dancing along with members of underworld don Chhota Rajan gang.
The two minutes 10 seconds long clip was reportedly recorded at a private club in eastern Mumbai's Chembur suburb.
The party was allegedly organised to celebrate New Year's eve and the release of some key Chhota Rajan gang members.
DK Rao, a top Chhota Rajan aide, was allegedly the main guest.
The party was organised by another Chhota Rajan aide Paulson Joseph.
Unconfirmed report also suggest that apart from Wani, an Indian Police Service official was also present at the party.
Sources confirm that the Mumbai Police Commissioner has already instituted an enquiry into the incident to confirm whether the man dancing with the gang members is Wani or not.
