Mumbai: John Abraham can certainly make his bike look like butter in his hands, however, these stunts on television which never fail catch the eye, can cause serious problems.
“It feels great to fly high in the clouds,” says an avid biker Zubin Patel.
34-year-old Zubin Patel who was once an avid biker tried similar stunts, avoided the ‘do not try this at home’ caution and learnt it the hard way.
Eight years ago in a rally in Shimla, the unthinkable happened when Zubin lost control of his bike and went into a coma. He emerged after almost two months, making a miraculous recovery, but he says riding a bike again would be tempting fate.
“You should know how to land properly and not just blast off and jump. The main thing is to be calm,” says Zubin.
With the number of bike accidents constantly on the rise, the Mumbai traffic police is now asking the Advertising Standards Council of India to penalise ads that show rash driving, which needlessly influence youngsters.
“They get affected, they start imitating these advertisements, so we feel there should be some regulation there,” says Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic HQ, SS Solunke.
