New Delhi: Bombay High Court on January 27 postponed Lavasa hearing till March 10.
Lavasa on Thursday sought six weeks to submit documents that were asked by Ministry of Environment and Forests. MOEF counsel mentioned that there were no talks of out of court settlement going on.
Construction was stopped there in November after the Environment Ministry passed an order against the developers for failing to obtain necessary environmental clearances.
Lavasa Corporation went to court challenging the stay order.
Real estate developer and chairman, HCC Ajit Gulabchand earlier said he is in talks with Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh for an amicable settlement.
"Yes, we have met and we have agreed that we will come out with amicable solution and we are working at it. Having said that it is necessary to understand this is in larger contest, we are democratic country and country in transaction, the issue that concern society and environment must be factored in our development, having said that, may be we are going about it a bit clumsily, may be we can look it in more transparently more inclusively so that we can create known process for people to deal with."
The environment ministry had issued a show cause notice to Lavasa last year in December.
They had declared a number of environmental violations - the height of the gate was 1043 metres, anything which is constructed above 1000 metres needs environment clearance. Also, when 5 per cent of the project was complete, permission should have been sought.
There are number of other violations made by activists for example, the extraction of water from the dams for constructing the high city. The Bombay High court had ordered the ministry should hear out Lavasa.
