CNN-IBN

New Delhi: Two jewellers were brutally attacked and robbed by armed men in Mumbai's Khar area on Wednesday night.

One of them, 42-year-old Sanjay Parmar, succumbed to his injuries, while the other, Nitesh Kothari, was badly injured. Both jewellery shop owners are from South Mumbai's Zaveri bazaar.

They were on a routine trade visit to the suburbs of Khar and Andheri when three unidentified men attacked them at the SV Road in Khar and took away jewellery worth a few lakh rupees.

Police believe it was a pre-planned robbery. "The attackers were following them in an autorickshaw. We don't have their names yet, but investigation is on and we will find them soon, says investigating officer, Santa Cruz police station, Dilip Gaikwad.
