Mumbai model death: Police probe call records of Bidushi Dash

Mumbai: The Mumbai Police on Wednesday launched a probe into the call records of the Mumbai-based actor-model Bidushi Dash Barde, who was found dead in her Mumbai apartment on Monday night. Police sources said that they were investigating the more than 100 missed calls and 200 text messages that she received on the day she died. Meanwhile, Bidushi's husband, Kedar Barde, who found her body in their flat in Andheri, is still being interrogated.

Initially, her death was registered as accidental, but the police have now begun a murder investigation. Barde, upon finding his wife's body, had rushed the 23-year-old to a hospital where she was declared brought dead. The body bore injury marks inflicted with a sharp weapon.

Bidushi hailed from Odisha and was brought up in Chennai. According to her father, who is an Air Force official, his daughter had also worked in a number of South Indian films. On Monday night, after returning from work at around 8 pm, Barde entered the apartment using a duplicate key as repeated knock on the door did not elicit any response. He found Bidushi, a diabetic, lying in a pool of blood outside the bedroom. Barde had left home at around 7.45 am, police said.

Initially, police suspected Bidushi may have collapsed due to diabetes-related complications and suffered fatal injuries after falling on a glass showcase. However, the postmortem report showed she was stabbed, following which police registered a murder case.

According to police sources, a neighbour told the investigators that she had seen a man at her house for a while on Monday afternoon. Barde and Bidushi had a love marriage three years ago and they moved to Mumbai one and half years ago. Police collected CCTV footage from the building.
