Angul, Orissa: Mumbai's sensational double murder case on last Thursday might have appeared to the police as a simple murder-and-suicide case by a jilted lover.

But there seems to be more to it than what meets the eye after the boy's father alleged that the upcoming model, Moon Das, had conspired to kill his son. He has also demanded a CBI enquiry into the indicent.

Moon, now in Mumbai, was not available for comments on the charges made by Avinash's father, but the incident seems to have brought to light the deadly combination of ambition, passion and greed to be successful in life at any cost.

The love story of Moon and Avinash started in a small Orissa town and ended in the double murder and suicide in the megapolis of Mumbai.

The 22-year-old businessman, Avinash Patnaik, was struck by love at the party. They had a very close relationship after that, even living as husband and wife for three days in an Orissa hotel. But the relationship lasted only until Moon decided to go to Mumbai.

Last week, Avinash drove all the way from Orissa in his car to Moon's flat in Mumbai. When he didn't finding her in her flat, Avinash allegedly shot Moon's mother and uncle before shooting himself dead. Mumbai police call the case an open-and-shut murder-and-suicide case.

But Avinash's father, Bhupen Patnaik, claims there was more to it.

Speaking exclusively to CNN-IBN, he says Moon took several lakh of rupees from his son, including Rs 5 lakh on last Valentine's Day. He quoted Avinash's bank records as evidence for his allegation.

"She had even booked a flat in Kolkata in her name," Patnaik claims. He says it is possible that Moon and her new boyfriend had called Avinash to Mumbai to kill him because he had no more money to give to her.

"They called him for money to Mumbai and I believe they killed him first and in order to erase the evidence, they killed the two elderly persons in the flat. I want a CBI enquiry to dig out the facts behind the killing of my son," Avinash's father claims.

He says the Mumbai police are not handling the case seriously and demanded that a CBI enquiry be ordered into the incident and Moon's bank accounts be verified to unravel the mystery behind the murders.
