Mumbai: Mumbai Police are still looking for a baby who went missing from the general ward of Wadia Hospital on Wednesday. The day-old boy was stolen during visiting hours when his mother, Jasmine Naik, was taking an evening walk in the corridor of the hospital, they said.
According to eyewitnesses a saree-clad woman, aged around 25, was seen leaving the room with the child. The police have been trying to get more leads on the woman who allegedly stole the baby and her sketch was released on Thursday. They are scanning CCTV footage from the area for more clues.
Meanwhile the baby's father is expected to meet the police chief later on Friday. Police have blamed the BMC-run hospital of lax security. The parents though said that they will not be filing a case against the hospital.
