Mumbai: National Students Union of India's (NSUI) Mumbai unit President Suraj Singh Thakur has been suspended for allegedly dancing naked at a party function. Thakur was suspended on Monday for dancing naked. He had been re-elected as NSUI President in December 2012.
It is still unclear as to what made Thakur do it. Reports say that there may have been a ragging of sorts with seniors asking the new entrants to button down their shirts.
The incident took place on April 14 in the Mumbai suburb of Kandivli. The video was trending on YouTube, but has now been taken off. The NSUI National President has also suspended two other office bearers, all of whom were believed to be drunk.
Thakur had first gained prominence after he led vociferous protests against the book of Rajiv Gandhi's alleged killer AG Perarivalan in May 2011.
