Avinash Karanjekar was killed in an encounter on Wednesday evening. He was accused of many crimes but his name gained notoreity after the Marathon Builders case where images Karanjikar along with his his gang collecting protection money from the builder at their Vikhroli office were captured on CCTV.
Once associated with don-turned MLA Arun Gawli, Karanjekar joined Chotta Rajan gang a few years ago and his main targets were builders in Ghatkoper, Mulund, Vikroli, Kurla and Thane.
