Mumbai: Mumbai was abuzz with rumours about a 'serial killer' on the prowl after the recovery of the body of a 35-year-old man in South Mumbai on Thursday morning. This was the fourth body to be recovered under similar circumstances in the area in the past one month or so.

The unidentified body was found on a foot overbridge with multiple stab-injuries near Azad Maidan, police said. The body was recovered at around 0600 hours at the Anandilal Poddar Chowk near Gol Masjid, police said.

On their part, the police have refused to say whether the murder was the handiwork of the suspected 'serial-killer' believed to be on the prowl in the area. The 'killer' is suspected to be a mentally-deranged man.

There have been three similar murders in the area in the past few months. The police said in all three cases, the victims were killed using the same modus operandi. In fact, the Mumbai Police has already formed a special team under the zonal deputy commissioner to nab the killer.
