Mumbai: Students of a Mumbai school have written a letter to Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray requesting him to rise above linguistic barriers.
Surely Raj Thackeray cannot ignore such a humble plea from students of Vibgyor High International School who have written an open letter asking him to stop his politics of hatred.
The letter was written during classroom discussions on the recent violence against the North Indian community in Mumbai.
"They wanted to go to Mr. Raj Thackeray's house and give it, but that was not possible," Kavita Sahay, Director, Vibgyor High International School, says.
And so the message of peace will now be couriered to Raj Thackeray. The students say they have no advice for Thackeray just a simple request.
"I would like to request him if he could channel his energies to something more productive," a student says
Another student adds, "I appeal to you sir, to help us in this matter and stop linguistic discrimination."
And unlike politicians the students seem to be taking their duty to their country seriously.
'Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high' is the future the students want for their country. Hope the politicians are listening.
