Mumbai: Three persons were killed on Wednesday night while six others injured after a 35-metre long block of an under-construction bridge collapsed near the international airport last night in Mumbai. Four of the six injured were in a critical condition.
Eight fire engines were immediately rushed to the scene. The operation to clear the rubble is still on but the BMC disaster management team and fire officials say that all those stuck under the debris have been rescued.
Police have registered a case of negligence against the company involved in the construction of the bridge. "A case has been registered against the contractor, engineer and the supervisor of L&T. The investigation is on," a police official said.
The injured were admitted to Cooper Hospital and Desai Hospital.
