Mumbaikars left stranded for 3 days

New Delhi: For Mumbaikars commuting from the northern suburb of Virar to Churchgate, the mega-block of the Western Railway services between Virar and Borivali will affect the services of local trains and cause inconvenience to lakhs of commuters.

The block starting on May 25 post-midnight to May 28 morning is going to affect the services of many Outstation trains arriving in Mumbai.

With 25 per cent of suburban trains being cancelled, railway authorities have informed that most trains will run behind schedule.

The mega-block is undertaken as part of the Quadrupling project on the route with two new tracks being laid to reduce congestion and make commuting easier for lakhs of Mumbaikars.

However, train services from Malad to Churchgate will run normally.

Besides this, additional BEST buses have been deployed to ensure commuters are not left stranded.
