Mumbai's cycling race for novel cause

Mumbai: Pedaling away to make a difference - in this case spreading the message for a healthier Mumbai. Crowd of youngsters in Mumbai pedaled close to 10 kilometers working their muscles and produced no carbon monoxide.

Event Promoter Gautam Dalal said, “We have seen a good response, it’s these cycles that can avoid pollution."

Joining 750 odd kids were celebrities who not only cheered the young enthusiasts but also actively participated in the event.

Actor Sohail Khan says, “I know one cycle event cant change anything but at least people will be conscious about the pollution in the city."

And even though a majority of the participants were young they weren't there just for fun.

One of the participant Ankita Sharmadas says, “The government is trying and children like us can help by at least participating in this cause."

Whether it was the presence of celebrities or just the cause the overwhelming presence of the children may just be the first step towards making Mumbai a healthy city but the question is will the adults take the cue?
