More skeletons are tumbling out of godman Swami Bhimanad's cupboard. Ichchadhari Sant Bhimanand Ji Maharaj, arrested in the Capital last week for allegedly running a huge prostitution racket, had clients and high-end contacts not just in India but also in Las Vegas in the US.
This has come to light from six of his diaries the Delhi Police recovered at the time of arrest. The diaries reveal names of 100 high-profile policemen, politicians and bureaucrats, besides prostitutes.
Sreemurath Diwedi alias Baba is said to have earned a daily income of Rs 1.5 lakh. But his diaries also show that he was due to receive Rs 25 thousand crore out of which he had received Rs 125 crore.
And next to the amount were mentioned the names of a Kolkata-based missionary and Las Vegas. It's still not clear who in Las Vegas owes him this amount and for what.
Did the self-styled guru indulge in gambling abroad or was he involved in any other business there? The Delhi Police is investigating this twist in the case.
But, for now it looks like Swami Bhimanand can only call the Gods for help.
