Muslim clerics have no problem with flying Kingfisher

New Delhi: Vijay Mallya's Kingefisher Airlines have found unexpected supporters in clerics of Deoband’s Dar-ul-Uloom, who have given a green signal to Muslims to board its flights.

In a fatwa issued recently by the Islamic organisation, the clerics said Muslims are permitted to fly Kingfisher Airlines, even if it is being run by the money earned through liquor business – which is considered unacceptable in Islam.

The fatwa unit of the Dar-ul-Uloom was asked if Muslims could use the airlines since it is associated with the group dealing in liquor.

The fatwa said the money accumulated by non-Muslims through liquor business is acceptable and if they are using this money to run an airline, Muslims are allowed to use the services.
