New Delhi: Two Bharatiya Janata Party MLAs Sangeet Som and Suresh Rana, arrested in connection with the Muzaffarnagar riots, were given a warm welcome in jail. The jailor was seen greeting the accused leaders while another policeman saluted them on their arrival.
Meanwhile, the Akhilesh Yadav government is being criticised for not acting against the Samajwadi Party leaders who are allegedly involved in the riots.
BJP MLA Suresh Rana was arrested on Friday while Sangeet Som surrendered on Saturday for allegedly inciting communal violence in Muzaffarnagar.
