The ‘Mysore Silk Exhibition-cum-sale organised by Karnataka Silk Industries Corporation Ltd at YWCA features a good collection of the famed saris. You will find an elegant designer collection of Crepe de chine saris, kasuti embroidary saris, georgettes, plain printed saris, silk tops, scarves and ties. Mysore silk is made of the finest quality of natural silk yarn obtained from cocoons reared in the old Mysore areas of Karnataka. This gives it an extraordinary lustre. The traditional method of manufacturing, the twist patterns adopted in weaving the fabric, gives it a grainy feeling. The zari used in mysore silk is pure and has a gold content of 0.65% and a silver content of 65%. the designs are a blend of tradition and modernity.

A special discount upt0 30% is also on offer. The exhibition is on till August 21.
