Mysore's Dusshera parade a grand hit

Abhir V P, CNN-IBN

Mysore: Everyone in Mysore was waiting for this - the Jumbo Sawari, which is the final procession in which the idol of Goddess Chamundeswari is taken through the streets of the city.

Sponsored by the royal family, the procession had it all - fire-breathing performers, drummers whipping up hysteria and tableauxs showcasing the vibrancy of the state.

It was also a Dusshera which was held under unprecedented security following the terror attacks across the country.

But with everything going smooth, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa declared it the best Dusshera ever.

And as the drums rolled and the crowds swayed to the beat, everyone agreed that it was a grand spectacle.

To add to that extra zing, there was also the participation of the Armed Forces. As the tableaux's rolled out one-by-one trying to out do each other, one thing was sure that those who saw it just simply loved it.
