Bhopal: Police Sub-Inspector Chetna Sharma died on November 30 under mysterious circumstances. Her body was found with a bullet injury by her maid servant.

A CID inquiry was ordered but the investigations remained under cover until Friday morning, when a letter allegedly written by Chetna, to the National Woman's Commission dated November 29, was found.

In the letter, she claims that the District Superintendent of Police Raja Babu Singh was sexually harassing her and had even threatened to kill her.

The CID is now trying to establish the credibility of the letter, as it is not handwritten. Chetna's father is alleging that her daughter has been murdered by Raja Babu, but the Madhya Pradesh government is trying to influence investigations.

Chetna’s father Kedar Nath Sharma says, “Even big officials came under pressure. Three doctors who earlier said it was a case of murder have forged the post mortem report. All investigating agencies are under government pressure. The Chief Minister is not letting the case to move forward.”

Photographs of the crime scene clearly show the position in which her body was found, the way her arms were placed and the entry and exit points of the bullet.

Investigating sources suggest Chetna's death is a case of murder and the home ministry now has assured fair investigation.

MP Home Minister Nagendra Singh said, “It is a very serious matter and we are taking time so as to reach the right conclusion. All the allegations that are being leveled are being taken into consideration. Whether it is death or suicide culprits will be nabbed.”

It’s not a bad news for the Madhya Pradesh police just because they don’t know where the Sub-Inspector Chetna Sharma was killed by someone or whether she committed suicide.

But also the serious allegations like sexual harassment and attempt to rape have been leveled against the district superintendent of police.
