Mumbai: If Bollywood stars have been thronging and hogging the limelight at the ongoing Lakmé Fashion Week, then day 4 saw the spotlight shift to the top stars of the South Indian Film Industry.

Superstars Nagarjuna, M Venkatesh Naidu and including heartthrob Siddharth descended in Mumbai for Asmita Marwa's show, who's the pin-up designer for all top stars of the Telugu Films.

Like all Bollywood stars, who have so far preferred to stay away from walking the ramp, the trio also chose the comfort of being off the ramp, while endorsing their favourite designer at the same time.

The three actors were united in their appreciation of the clothing line.

"They are very wearable clothes. You can wear them outside, doesn't have to be just on the ramp and very earthy colours," said Nagarjuna.

"She's a friend of mine, I came here for Asmita Marwa, and I think she blew it out of the water,” enthused Venkatesh. “I loved the wearability of the line, I like the work on the whole line, in fact. I think it's a very good show and considering it's her first time in fashion week, I think she really did a good job."

Siddharth, too, was bowled by the colours.

"I always loved the maroons and the blacks and browns. I think she has done a great job and we're really proud she's pulled it off really well," he said.

As for the collection itself, Asmita used the age-old craft of Kalamkari from Andhra Pradesh and wove it into western silhouettes like quilted jackets, long flowy kurtas and saris in indigo, black, olive and red.

An ode to Mother Earth, the collection featured only hand-painted natural fabric and vegetable dyes. Quite a striking impression for a first-timer at the Fashion Week.
