Annapurna International School of Film and Media, founded by actor Nagarjuna, is a name to reckon with in South India. Its onward march has received a fillip, thanks to a deal struck by its founder-president, with Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University. The idea behind the agreement was explained by Nag yesterday. "It is our earnest endeavour to bring out the creativity in our people through technical training. We thought government recognition for the courses done here in our film school will carry more value."
He said that there have taken place many revolutionary changes in cinema in the last five years. "Opportunities are spreading wide. Cinema is not just about acting. Direction, cinematography, editing, visual effects, and so on, are also important.
Under the aegis of Nag, the film school has been taking many strides. After involving the likes of Mani Ratnam and Kamal Hassan, it is fast bracing up to engage with Karan Johar as well.
