London: A young Indian couple settled in London is all set to return to swades in a unique way: they plan to drive their way back home.

Thirty-two-year old physician Dr Justin Aryabhat Gopaldas and a 29-year-old psychiatrist Dr Ashlesha Bagadia, both went to the UK four years ago for higher education.

They now plan to set out to India with a mission and they start their epic drive from the UK by the end of March this year and plan to reach Bangalore in about 3 months.

Their route will include traveling through Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, France, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Iran, Pakistan, and finally, India.

The uniqueness of this trip lies in the fact that they hope to touch base at most sites considered archaeologically, culturally and historically important, such as the Greek Civilizations and the Indus Valley Civilizations.

Through the journey, they wish to convey the following message: “We are fund raising in aid of UNICEF, the United Nations Children’s Fund, registered charity 1072612. We would be so grateful for any donations you can give us which will go straight to UNICEF’s work on projects across India such as those helping vulnerable children have better access to health centres, education, nutrition and protection. Please support UNICEF’s work in India today by visiting the following website and donating online http://www.justgiving.com/alongroadhome.”

Their goals do not stop there. They also wish to ignite a sense of adventure and responsibility, in fellow travellers. They are aware of the impact of global warming and have undertaken to offset the carbon emission caused by this drive, by donating to environment friendly projects through Climate Care.

Climate Care is a service that helps individuals and organisations to repair the damage they do to the climate. Through its award-winning sustainable energy projects Climate Care will reduce pollution (CO2) on your behalf, to offset your own contribution to climate change.
