New Delhi: One person was killed and several injured in clashes on Friday between Dera Sacha Sauda and Sikh followers in Sirsa in Haryana.
Reports suggest the two groups clashed following an argument during the morning prayer organised by Dera followers.
Over 24 people were injured in a grenade blast on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway near Banihal in Jammu region. According to police sources the blast was targetted at a CRPF vehicle parked near a bus stand in a crowded market place.
Four CRPF men including a deputy commander, and six students of a nearby school were among the injured.
The Supreme Court issued notice to Union Government and all state governments seeking implementation of Right to Education and uniform standards for every school.
The notice was issued in response to a PIL seeking direction to remove discrimination between different categories of students.
The petition said the state has failed to provide equal opportunity of education to children, particularly belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and the Muslim Community.
