Navratra costumes on rent! Takers anyone?

Rajjot (Gujarat): The festival of Navratri is as much about dancing as it is about dressing right.

If your Navratri budget is out of control and you still don’t have the eye-catching costume then you don’t need to fret.

Renting colourful ghagra-cholis with prices ranging from 300 to 1,500 rupees have become the latest option for women of Rajkot. And not just that they even get jewellery to match their outfits.

Charu Mirani, a housewife vouches for it since she is a dandia enthusiast and wants variety and novelty in her Navratri costumes- a different set for each evening.

"I don’t like to repeat my dresses and can't wear them at family functions so new rented costumes are better,” says Charu.

The trend of renting costumes at half the cost instead of actually buying them is fast picking up.

Even men are lining up for trials and this year, the outfits are getting brighter and louder.

“NRIs prefer sober coloured outfits that ranges from Rs 6,000 to 16, 000,” says a shop owner, Hitesh Sompal.

Fancy costumes, jewellery and a sprint in your step- Navratri enthusiasts are willing to splurge to get the right look.
