Naxals attack Midnapore police station

Kolkata: A group of around 100 armed Naxals attacked a police station in West Midnapore district and killed a police official on Tuesday.

Police said the heavily armed rebels raided the Sankrail police station in Jhargram subdivision and shot dead the station's second officer.

The Naxals also raided a bank close to the police station.

A television channel reported that the ultras also abducted the officer in charge of the police station, but there was no confirmation.

Details are awaited.
