New Delhi: In Orissa nearly 1,500 security personnel have fanned out across the forests of Kandhamal, Ganjam and Nayagarh to track down the Naxals hiding there.
The Centre has also sent in a crack team of 500 commandos to Orissa, and 100 Greyhounds commandos, too, have been also pressed into operation to send out a clear message that no matter what the Naxals will not get away with daring attacks on the state machinery.
Police also claim that the Naxals might be carrying the dead bodies of their comrades to hide the toll.
More than half the arms looted from the Nayagarh police armoury have been recovered.
Casualties have been high on both sides, with cops shooting down more than 20 Naxals in the encounter since Sunday.
On Tuesday morning a truckload of arms and ammunition was found abandoned in the jungles.
Combing operation has been going on in the jungles of Orissa for the past three days following the Naxal attack in Nayagarh and Daspalla towns in which 15 people including 14 policemen were killed and sophisticated arms and ammunition looted.
Meanwhile Orissa Assembly witnessed unruly scenes on Tuesday, with the Congress demanding a discussion while the ruling party opposing it.
