NDA gives its stamp of approval to Modi

New Delhi: The ultimate endorsement from the General in winter. After a gap of about three months, the mascot of the NDA and former Prime Minister A B Vajpayee appeared before the media, to give his stamp of approval to Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's stunning victory in Gujarat.

The BJP is seeing this as a chance to revive the flagging spirit of the NDA and the BJP's allies asserted their confidence in their senior partner.

Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik was one of the first to congratulate the BJP and Modi.

“It is a great news for the BJP and Modi. It’s a tremendous victory as he has won for the third time in the state. I congratulate him,” said Patnaik.

Another ally, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, had made his discomfort with Modi's statements towards the end of the campaign clear but on this big day, preferred to keep that aside.

We should ask people those people about his win who were challenging Modi from here, ask Laluji (Lalu Prasad),” Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

Had Modi been defeated, it would have sent the BJP into a tailspin and probably resulted in the disintegration of NDA.

The message is now clear. NDA stays and even hopes to march to the Delhi durbar in the next Lok Sabha elections.
