New Delhi: In a glittering pageant held at Mumbai on Saturday, Delhi girl Neha Kapur was crowned the Pond's Femina Miss India-Universe.
Neha was also titled as Miss Photogenic and Miss Fresh Face. The 22-year-old is a well-honed classical dancer and has four years of training in Bharatnatyam and an eight year experience in Kathak.
Natasha Suri, 21, was crowned Miss India World, while Amruta Patki,20, bagged the Miss India Earth title.
In all, 26 contestants from all over the country participated in this year`s edition of Miss India.
Judges for the event included Tarun Tahiliani, Neha Dhupia, reader Vaishali Rajapurkar, Karisma Kapur, Suneet Verma, Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra, Zayed Khan, Rakshanda Khan and Karan Johar.
What was interesting is that besides a prominent Bollywood presence in the panel of judges, the final question for the evening - that won the three lovely ladies their ticket to fame - was also based on Bollywood.
The five finalists were given 19 seconds to answer the decisive question - 'Does the society influence Bollywood or Bollywood influence society?'
The anchors for the pageant, Mini Mathur and R Madhavan, kept the audience fairly entertained.
Other highlights of the evening were performances by Fardeen Khan and Kareena Kapoor.
