New Delhi: Deen Dayal Upadhyaya hospital first refused to carry out Neha Kakkar's post-mortem, since the head of the post-mortem panel was from Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC), so the formalities would only be completed there.
However sources said a rift between the hospital authorities and the police is the reason.
The family overwhelmed by grief and exhaustion was in no mood to argue.
"The police are saying that once the health ministry instructs, only then a panel will be set up and the decision of where the post mortem would be done will be taken," said Neha's uncle Ashok Nanda.
All eyes were on the doors at MAMC, waiting for the doctors to clarify whether Neha committed suicide. Even her father's queries went unanswered.
"I specifically asked about the scratches on her body. The doctor has taken note of it, but still cannot say if Neha had jumped in self-defence or had been pushed," says Neha’s father Chaman Lal Kakkar.
Postmortem was finally done after 48 hours. But the doctors who conducted the post-mortem also didn't seem too keen to clarify the doubts. What were those scratch marks on her body, why were her clothes in disarray?
It is still unclear if Neha had committed suicide or was pushed off the busy Janakpuri District Centre.
