Kathmandu: The passenger plane carrying 19 people that went missing in Nepal crashed in Kathmandu on Sunday, killing all the people onboard.
Out of the 16 tourists, 10 were Indians, said Apoorva Srivastava, the spokesperson of the Indian Embassy in Nepal.
She also said that the Nepalese government has deployed two helicopters to carry out rescue operations and to bring back the bodies. She said that the weather was perfectly fine.
Officials said that the plane carrying tourists to view Mount Everest had been out of contact with the control tower for more than an hour.
The Nepal government has set up a three-member commission to probe the air crash.
The Beechcraft plane belonging to Buddha Air was carrying 16 tourists and three Nepalese crew members. It lost contact on Sunday on approach to the Kathmandu airport.
The plane had taken the tourists to view Mount Everest and other high peaks and was returning to Kathmandu.
