Network 18 bags six honours at the ITA Awards

Mumbai: Network 18 bagged six awards at the Indian Television Academy Awards on Sunday night, grabbing the maximum for any news network. It was a night of honours for CNN-IBN at the 11th Indian Television Academy Awards on Sunday night. CNN-IBN picked up five awards in various categories taking home the Best English News Channel award yet again for the fifth time in six years. CNN-IBN Editor in Chief Rajdeep Sardesai won The Best Anchor News and Current Affairs Show Jury Award.

"We are 6 years old out of which we have received an award for 5 years, it truely belongs to the bunch of professionals we have who work day in and day out for news," Rajdeep said.

CNN-IBN's Priyali Sur got the award for best TV documentary for the 30 Minutes episode Sampa's Diary. Foodie Bikramjit Ray's Secret Kitchen bagged the Best Cookery Show. Television's funny man Cyrus Broacha wasn't left out as The Week That Wasn't got him the best comic actor honour. CNN-IBN's sister channel CNBC TV 18 got the best business channel award.

The evening saw the who's who of the television industry walking the red carpet. Amitabh Bachchan, Farhan Akhtar and Dharmendra were also honoured for their contribution to the small screen.

All in all it was an evening to remember for the television industry.
