Mumbai: 2009 is all set to embrace newcomers in Bollywood, and Kal Kisne Dekha is one such film which marks the debut of two promising new actors having a filmy background.
Producer Vashu Bhagnani's son Jackky Bhagnani is the new kid on the Bollywood block. And Vashu new is leaving no stone unturned to create a perfect launch pad for his son with Kal Kisne Dekha.
While the father son duo were busy shooting at Mumbai's film city on Wednesday night, it was actor Salman Khan who showed up to encourage the young lad.
"Main inko us waqt se janta tha, jab who itna chota aur itna mota tha. Agar main inhe wait loss tips detha toh main inhe nachna sikhata (I know him since the time when he was quite young and chubby. If I had given him weight loss tips, I would've taught him to dance)," said Salman.
"When he came to me eight years back, I told him son we are producers. But then he said papa give me some time, so I told him okay son if I see that thing in you I will take a chance with you," said Vashu.
And if Jackky has his producer father to help him climb the Bollywood ladder, his lady love in the film, also a debutant Vaishali Desai is the grand niece of legendary filmmaker Manmohan Desai.
And both debutants believe it's the filmy connect which helped them a great deal
"It's essential to have a support system and Mr Desai has been a genius in the field, I was an academician and somewhere it's the that genes run in me so here I am," Vaishali.
"Being a producer's son, I value everything and I know it's lots of hands working behind one man standing there," said Jackky.
While the filmy connect will surely help these newcomers hog the lime light at the moment, but it's their acting which will carry forward the legacy.
