Surat (Gujarat): The city has been submerged with water and the situation is grim.

However, the birth of a baby has not only brought smiles to its parents’ faces but others who were in the hospital where it was born.

A resident of Surat Racecourse, Ghansingh, was able to bring his pregnant wife, Narmada on time to the hospital for the delivery of their baby.

“I was able to bring my wife to the hospital on time and all the hospital staff did their best for my wife’s easy delivery,” Ghanshingh says.

It was a tough journey for Ghansingh as he was stranded on the rooftop when Narmada went into labour.

However, the local residents and the army helping him made the journey, undoubtedly the most memorable for him

“The army told us that there a lady was about to deliver. We got the couple in the car and brought them to the hospital,” says Ramesh, a local resident.

Though Narmada and the baby are doing fine, Ghansingh is still a worried man as 60 per cent of Surat is still submerged in water.
