Families of Vaheed Hussain and Dr Jaffer Iqbal Solapur, who were arrested for allegedly having terror links, would be questioned by investigating agencies who are expected to visit the families in a day or two.

NIA sleuths who after grilling 14 persons, suspected of having terror links, in Bangalore are expected to visit Hubli.

The team’s arrival in the city is significant as six of the suspects have their base in Hubli. Besides, reports that the suspects have links with suspected SIMI activists who were arrested in Hubli in 2007, has been the cause of worry for NIA.

NIA officials who held a meeting with Central Crime Branch (CCB) officials involving Suresh Naidu, N B Sakri and S R Ganachari were keen to visit Hubli to grill the families. They would verify the details already given by the suspects besides meeting a few friends or persons having contacts with the suspects, sources in the intelligence agency said.

Though CCB police have already visited colleges and other institutions where suspects studied and questioned the persons concerned, it is believed that an enquiry by NIA officials would force persons concerned to give more information on the terror module.

Meanwhile, a team of officials from CCB have moved towards Bagalkot to unearth information regarding one of the arrested suspect Mohammed Yusuf Nalaband, whose family has been living in there for many years.

Yusuf had mislead investigating authorities in Bangalore by furnishing false residential address of Hubli.
