The remains of 19 women and children were recovered from this drain outside Pandhers house in December 2006.
On Thursday, 2 yrs later, the family of one of the victim Rimpa Haldar has finally got justice.
“Am happy, the court has heard the plea of a poor man,” says Anil Haldar.
Despite several odds, Anil Haldar had always stood by the fact that both Pandher and Koli had helped the police in recovering the skulls of victims and murder weapons.
Haldar's wife too, is relieved and wants the highest penalty for the accused.
“Am happy that he has got this punishment, I want him hanged,” says Dolly.
The verdict comes as a huge slap for the CBI who had given Pandher the clean chit in 15 of the 16 cases which it had filed a charge sheet.
This is only the first case in which Pandher and Koli have been convicted. Pandher has 6 cases against him while Koli has 16. Surely the legal battle is far from over.
