New Delhi: With no clear leads, the finger pointing in the Nithari serial killing case goes on. It’s not just the accused who are blaming each other, within the police force many heads have already rolled.
Skeletons from the Nithari cupboard have literally started pouring out. This time the alleged lapses of senior police officers who were handling the Nithari probe for the past two years.
The UP government has suspended the then SSP of Noida Piyush Mordia, and SP city Soumitra Yadav for dereliction of duty. One Sub-Inspector Sevak Ram has also faced the axe and with this the count of suspended officers in the Nithari killing case has gone up to 11.
UP Chief Secretary NC Vajpayee said, “They have been suspended immediately.”
Speaking to CNN-IBN now SSP Ghaziabad Piyush Mordia said, "He did not know anything about Moninder Singh and that only eight children went missing during his tenure."
Nithari is fast becoming the tale of a-twist-a-day and yet another revelation was added on Wednesday night.
Noida SSP R K S Rathore said, “Satish told us in the interrogation that Moninder inspired him to kill the children."
So far police investigations are based on the confessions of the two accused, but experts feel that unless the police gets concrete evidence, they might find it difficult to prove the case in the court of law.
