Ghaziabad: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) announcement was a shocker to the people in Nithari who lost their children to the mindless killings that took place in Moninder Singh Pandher's bungalow in Noida.
“Our investigations have revealed that Pandher was not at all aware of the killing in his house,” said Joint-director of CBI, Arun Kumar.
The parents of the murdered children find it hard to believe that all the murders were committed by Pandher's servant Surendra Singh Koli.
The people of Nithari have now approached the Ghaziabad court demanding that a re-investigation be ordered or the court take direct cognizance and make Moninder Singh Pandher a co-accused in the case.
"This is a rarest of rare case and to let go one of the main suspects without a trial is not right,” said a lawyer Khaleed Khan.
The petition was filed after CBI chargesheets gave Pandher a clean chit on the grounds that he was not at the residence when his servant raped and killed more than a dozen children.
Nithari residents always believed that Pandher was as much guilty as his servant Surendra. Now the CBI has some tough questions to answer when they argue their case on May 4.
