Click to play videoBangalore: Tainted godman Swami Nithyananda has defended himself against allegations of financial irregularities saying people are trying to tarnish his image. But he did not mention the controversial sex tapes which allegedly showed him with a Tamil actress.
Swami Nithyananda's was caught on camera, allegedly in a compromising position with a Tamil actress.
The godman is now looking to clear the air in an interview by disciple and researcher Rajiv Malhotra, posted on YouTube.
But ironically, the godman does not mention a word about the sex tapes. Instead, defends himself against several other allegations reported in the media.
"It's just they (media) are creating stories, stories and stories. It's just to create more fear inside the organisation and outside the organisation, just to disturb people. Not even a single person has said anything against. It's just lies that are being spread again and again with more rumours," said Nithyananda.
Swami Nithyanada, now believed to be at the Kumbh Mela in Haridwar, has been accused of grabbing land for his ashram in Bidadi. He is also accused of involvement in the death of a devotee in the ashram. But he alleges that it's all part of a conspiracy by the media.
"I do not know, I do not know. We do not know who is behind, what is behind, we do not want to blame anybody with knowing clearly. Without knowing clealry they maybe blaming me but I do not want to blame them," he said.
So just why is the self-styled godman uncomfortable talking about the sting operation?
The YouTube clip also says that the Swami will hold a press conference soon.
