Bangalore: The verdict is out. According to the Outlook-CNN-IBN survey, the National Law School of India University (NLS) is where you got to be if you aspire to wear that black coat.
We can't get you a seat here but can get you glimpses from inside the best law school in the country.
Says a professor at NLS, Sarasu Thomas, "The teaching methods we use are not drastically different, but we have freedom and experimentation on campus."
According to the Outlook-CNN-IBN poll, the NLS comes first in all the five parameters including competency of faculty, infrastructure, processes and placements.
Out of 200 points for competency of faculty, the NLS scored the maximum at 176 marks. For infrastructure, it got 81 points out of 100. In terms of placements, the NLS scored over others with 84 out of 100.
With all that to boast of and only 80 seats on offer in a nerve racking entrance test that takes place on May 6 every year, it's no wonder then that each seat is coveted.
Though it is considered the Harvard of the East, don't be disheartened if you cannot make it to NLS. The CNN-IBN- Outlook poll found that there are other places you could try:
- NALSAR: Hyderabad
- NUJS: Kolkata
- NLIU: Bhopal
- Faculty of Law: Delhi University
- NLU: Jodhpur
- ILS Law College: Pune
- Symbiosis Law College: Pune
- Government Law College: Mumbai
- GNLU: Gandhinagar
So all of you who are aspiring to be lawyers, gear up to get a place in any of these institutes.
