“We are not saying remove the horns, we are just saying honk only when required. All unnecessary honking could have been avoided,” says President of Earth Saviours Association, Ravi Kalra.
With people, animals and vehicles – all sharing the roadspace in Delhi, the campaign might just fall of deaf ears.
Traffic inspectors will be present at major intersections like Connaught place, Patel Nagar, Safdarjung and ITO in the new year.
You can even spot them near hospitals and schools. If caught honking without reason, you shall have to part with Rs 100.
It may be a great initiative in theory but to practically discipline the unruly crowds of the capital seems to be a tough one.
