No conditionalities on N-deal: Pranab

CNN-IBN

New Delhi: There has been setback for the Government on the Indo-US Nuclear Deal.

In his first reaction to Friday's inconclusive deliberations on India's request for waiver at the NSG in Vienna, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee has said, "We have to see what kind of amendments come our way. Then only we can decide on anything. But we cannot accept prescriptive conditionalities."

The word from Vienna is that differences over the waiver have narrowed, but there will be changes to the draft to reflect non-proliferation concerns of certain countries.

The amendments are expected to relate to testing, access to enrichment and reprocessing technologies and a stricter inspection regime.
