He also feels that the coalition allies and opposition parties alike, which are not supporting the decision currently, will realise in the near future that raising prices was the best option.
Murli Deora: First of all I would like to say that they (Left and the Opposition) have not supported the decision. But sooner or later they will realise that this is the only solution available. There is no other alternative, we explained to them how many losses they are making, what will happen to the oil companies, what will happen to the refineries. The oil companies support three big refineries.
CNN-IBN: The Left is saying that they are planning nation wide agitations, they've come out very strongly at this kind of a hike?
Murli Deora: We will explain to them and they will not go forward with the demonstration, everything will be taken care of.
CNN-IBN: Are the allies on board, how have you convinced them that this is the requirement?
Murli Deora: Most people may say that they are not supporting the decision, but in their heart they are supporting, because they know there is no other solution and no other alternative available.
CNN-IBN: Is there likely to be a roll-back, should we expect some kind of relief?
Murli Deora: No, please forget that very word 'roll-back'. There is no question of a roll-back.
