New Delhi: Nokia on Tuesday issued a product advisory and offered a recall for 46 million BL- 5C batteries produced between December 2005 and November 2006. The batteries are amongst those supplied by Matsushita.
So how do you know if your phone has a BL-5c battery?
Just remove the battery and you'll find the number written next to the hologram. The important thing to remember is that only 46 million of the 300 million batteries have been recalled.
And to find out if yours is one of them you have to visit the website, www.nokia.com/replacement.
Type in the serial number behind the battery and you will instantly be informed whether your battery is one of those that need to be replaced.
And remember, your battery might overheat and cease to function, but it will not explode. So if you have a defective battery, just have it replaced.
