Nationalist Congress Party leader Praful Patel played down his disappointment calling it the cost of being in a coalition while Abdullah questioned why some states are getting better representation.
Minister of state with independent charge Patel is likely to retain the Civil Aviation Ministry and said that give and take are a part of coalition.
He also claimed that he didn't feel that his party was demanding too much.
"In a coalition there are always some issues. Its like give and take. I don’t think we are too demanding. I am particularly happier with an elevation but that doesn’t not mean that I am unsatisfied," said Patel
National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah hoped that the new government would offer equal number of seats to the various parties from different states.
"I am sure this new government that will come in... all these things will be sorted out and that there should be equal distribution to the states. If one gets more and the other state suffers... then poor states like mine will always remain backward," said Abdullah.
